Award Winning

We are proud to announce our third consecutive Wine Spectator Award since our inception in 2006.

Our wine list is hand picked by the owners. They want to give you an opportunity to taste and test unique wine varietals from around the world.

Our goal is to provide a creative experience and a wide range of by the glass options to learn about, and taste wines you may not have had an opportunity to try.

The wine philosophy shares one unique goal with our kitchen: to offer flavor sensations guests can’t find at every restaurant in Saratoga Springs, New York. For the Grey Gelding, that means combining savory ingredients with Cajun, California and Tuscan influences, in new and inventive ways. With wine, it’s all about finding the bottles that not only complement the food but stand out on their own.

The Grey Gelding’s wine list objectives are simple: (1) To represent a large quantity of winemaking regions, with as many diverse styles of wine as possible; (2) To offer selections of older vintages, small boutique wineries, a variety of wines by the glass and wine flights; and (3) To not discriminate based on price or style.

One of the signature features of the Grey Gelding’s wine program is our approach to “by-the-glass” wine service. Having been exposed to so many beautiful boutique wines that are overlooked by mainstream wine lists, our awareness of these unique varietals and regions encourage us to offer many of these by the glass and bottle on our list. Our goal is to obtain repeat customers by offering diverse wines by the glass that are reasonably priced to a bit higher end. We further enhanced this by investing in multiple wine preservation systems. This allows us to display many Red and White wines by the glass. It also allows customers to become enticed with labels as well as offer unique selections by the glass while obtaining optimal cooling and preserving through their nitrogen retention system.
